Many of you know that I have lived with a spinal condition since childhood, medically called #scoliosis. A significant part of my yoga practice is in restoring and regenerating optimal function for my health and mental wellness; simply living and being with a structural imbalance.
Over the years, I have come to realise that this is a process of well-being. To give attention with intention, to be kind and generous to myself, to be diligent and committed to the process of healing. This has been an arduous journey with moments of joyful celebrations. 🥳
Through years of dedicated exploration, research, investigation, and daily practice, it has not only greatly improved my condition, pain management, and optimal functionality, it has significantly restore my self confidence, self sovereignty and HOPE.
I want to share this with those of you who live with some structural or functional imbalances, or those who may be interested in working with imbalances, on how to perceive, recognise and manage discomfort. The process of navigating my practice with modifications to adapt to the need of my physical structure and mental readiness. In releasing uneven tension in various parts of the body, we may then find our way into stabilising and strengthening, to support movement efficiency.
